The Essex Chargers 5/6 Tackle program consists of two teams - Varsity and JV.

The 5/6 level is an instructional tackle program which becomes more competitive as players move through the program. There is a Varsity team and a JV team in the Chargers 5/6 program. Players will be placed on Varsity or JV based on their skill. Most first-year tackle players will be placed on JV early in the season, however any player can be moved between the teams as the season progresses based upon abilities.

All Essex Chargers coaches are USA Football certified and have been educated in the Heads Up football program. Our coaches stress teaching the fundamentals with minimal contact during practice time. We care a lot about each and every player and strive to make ALL players part of the Charger family regardless of ability.
